St. Augustine Sardines are the first team to join the Orange State League!
The Orange State League continues to expand ahead of its inaugural season with the addition of a new franchise in one of Florida’s most historic coastal communities. The St. Augustine Sardines will join the league, bringing collegiate summer baseball to St. Augustine and adding another destination for high-level amateur baseball in the state.
League commissioner Ryan Webb said the city represents exactly the type of community the Orange State League hopes to build around as it launches its first season.
“St. Augustine brings the passion, energy, and competitive spirit that this league is all about,” Webb said. “We’re excited to have the Sardines as part of the foundation of the Orange State League.”
The Orange State League was created to provide elite collegiate athletes with a high-level summer platform while connecting teams with strong local communities throughout Florida. The league’s mission centers on giving college players an opportunity to continue developing their skills in a competitive environment while also creating a memorable fan experience for local supporters.
According to Webb, the league’s focus in its inaugural season is establishing teams that can build lasting connections within their cities while maintaining a high standard of play on the field.
“What sets the Orange State League apart is our commitment to community, an elite fan experience, and player development,” Webb said. “Every night at the ballpark should feel like a big-time event that brings people together.”
The St. Augustine Sardines will now begin assembling their roster and building relationships throughout the local community as they prepare for their first season. The team will feature collegiate players from across the country looking to refine their skills and gain additional competitive experience during the summer months.
As the Orange State League continues to unveil its inaugural lineup of teams, the addition of the Sardines signals another step in the league’s effort to establish itself as a premier destination for collegiate summer baseball in Florida. With its rich baseball culture and vibrant coastal atmosphere, St. Augustine is expected to play an important role in shaping the league’s early identity.
